Project: a Guide to Elders Well Being

Project Topic	The goal of VIRGILIUS is to provide a seamless transnational out and indoor location and navigation service to elders, integrated with a set of a value added services centred on the person, to support his/her well-being while on the move. The following main stakeholders are identified in the system: Target user: The elder people that should be assisted by the system. Target user family: The family members of the target user. Caretakers: organisation or people in charge of caring for target user The service architecture is composed by three main elements, the service centre (that is based on ICT distributed technology and providing the main services and also localization in outdoor environments), the local agent (providing services and localization inside buildings) and the user terminal (providing a proper interface for elders) All the system is based on localization elements, infrastructures plus algorithms developed during the project. The Business Model will be based on the following macro building blocks: Product: value proposition, products and services Customer interface: target customers, distribution channels; customer relationship Infrastructure/Organisation: production/operating models; needed competency and capabilities; partner and stakeholder network Financial/Economics: cost structures, revenue/pricing models; socio-economics/policy factors (eg: medical, ICT, GNSS); barriers for implementation The end users will be involved since the start of the project, in particular during the service/product settlement activities. During this phase, the end users requirements will be collected and structured in order to be used as input for the system design architecture and related development activities. The end users involved in the demonstrations are the Perugia Hospital, for the Hospital orientation business case and the Romanian Museum for the Travel support-pedestrian guide.
