Project: Enhancing Daily Life and Health through "One Stop Shop" User Interaction
Acronym | EDLAH (Reference Number: aal-2012-5-062) |
Duration | 01/05/2013 - 01/11/2015 |
Project Topic | 1. Challenges addressed and AAL-solutions proposed Research shows that older people wish to remain at home for as long as possible and the need to empower them to be able to improve the quality of their everyday lives. There are a number of areas this project wishes to address through bringing together a number of support services through the use of available Technology combined with an understanding of users themselves (their behaviour and how to motivate and empower them to take better care of their own health), to enable a healthier, happier, longer and productive life. Greater life expectancy (and the health problems associated with it) and increasing isolation of these people means that older adults face problems with every day activities including with taking medication, maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle, communicating with and mobilising with support and social groups, tracing missing objects, performing tasks such as grocery shopping and lacking motivation to manage and improve their health (lifestyle problems such as poor nutrition or obesity, smoking, lack of sufficient exercise etc). 2. Target groups for the AAL-solution proposal Older people and informal carers 3. Technology to be employed Tablet with information and support services with web and mobile interfaces for stakeholders. 4. Business model The business model revolves around charging a combined service fee for the integrated platform service when it is launced to market. 5. End user participation End users participation will be critical to the success of the project and two dedicated experienced end user organisations are involved facilitating formal and informal user group feedback, trials and demonstrations. |
