Pre-competitive Collective Research between at least two countries/regions performed for the benefits of SMEs. Each participant in a CORNET project receives funding from his national or regional programme. This network’s funding principle has been maintained from its history as ERA-NET
Basic Information
Description
CORNET is a self-sustained network of ministries and funding agencies with the objective to organise joint calls for transnational collective research proposals and to fund projects according to the ERA-NET principle.
CORNET has been established as ERA-NET in 2005 and was supported within FP6 and FP7 until 2010. Since January 2011 CORNET is a self-sustained network coordinated by the German Federation of Industrial Research Associations (AiF) with financial means from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
CORNET has a strong interest in extending the partnership to interested countries and regions. Funding organisations are invited to test the flexible and unbureaucratic cooperation between ministries and funding agencies, for example by funding a pilot CORNET project.
