Project: Exploiting Aggregated Open Data from Smart Cities for the Future Internet Society

Smart Cities expose large amounts of “urban smart devices” to interconnect them and exploit their capabilities, by improving the productivity and quality of human beings life. There is a necessity of having an infrastructure highly scalable to manage the varying density of data in devices and services using them, solving their interoperability. Future Internet applications will manage big data to include people interacting with the physical world providing facilities for smart cities. These complex and crucial challenges are not only at the technological level, but also addresses sociological and political aspects. To achieve this goal, technologies like Internet of Things, Services&Cloud Computing, Semantic-based Computing, and Big Data should be put together. The main idea of this proposal is to create a set of facilities to deploy and interoperate services by exploiting aggregated open data from Smart Cities in the Future Internet Society. To overcome the current scenarios’ limitations, this proposal aims at using new technologies to produce an approach with these objectives: (1) Homogenization of heterogeneous open data and data services, (2) Analysis and aggregation of data analytics services for predictions & recommendations, (3) Development of methodologies to deploy and interoperate services, and (4) Alignment and contribution to FIWARE platform.
