Project: A photocatalytic system for water cleaning using UV-LED and doped catalysts applied to ballast water
Photocat aims to develop a new water decontamination system combining novel, doped nanophotocatalysts with UV-LEDs in a system that completely destroys chemical & microbiological contaminants without producing harmful by-products. Photocat will deliver a prototype of a novel decontamination system, optimised for ballast water cleaning, including a clear demonstration of the system. This can be in addition to current technologies, or as a replacement for conventional UV water treatment
