Project: Tissue engineered skin with human hair follicles for human transplantation and in vitro skin testing
The TESHI project aims to develop a novel in vitro generated autologous skin construct including functional hair follicles (HF) for scalp hair regenerative therapy. This novel skin construct can be used for skin and hair regeneration for acute burn, trauma and surgical wounds. Also, a novel in vitro skin model including functional HF will be developed in a skin-on-a-chip format that is suitable for medium to high throughput substance testing and drug screening.
