| Project Topic | Development of an integrated Forward Osmosis system coupled with Membrane Distillation or Reverse Osmosis for draw solution recovery to concentrate high-fouling liquids. Typical fluids with high fouling potential are landfill leachate, municipal wastewater, produced water, and industrial process streams (e.g. starch juice, whey, orange juice). The concept will be more energy efficient, less chemicals consuming and more effective than current technologies such as RO or distillation at lower cost. |
