Project: Development of an apparatus for contact normal force measurement in electric connectors
Any smartphone user can tell you the connector for charging and data transfer is a weak point of the product. It is one of the principal reasons for smartphones to fail. The economical and environmental costs are enormous. Generally, connectors play an important role in many electrical devices. A gap between specification and actual con-tact normal forces yawns. Thus, a system for non-destructive normal force probing in miniaturized connectors will be developed using microsystems and delivered.
