Project: Marine Sulfur Monitor
MASUM aims at developing a new, cost-effective gas sensor, which will monitor the performance of SOx scrubbers on seagoing vessels and prove that the vessel is complying with new international regulations on sulfur content in marine fuel. The sensor will be based on commercially available light emitting diodes in the UV. It is expected to operate maintainance-free for at least 12 months and to be priced below €5'000. The deliverable is a demonstrator version for field tests on a scrubber.
