Project: New ecological mechatronic maintenance system for safer and cost-effective aircraft stripping

The project will deliver a robotized dry wheat starch media blasting process for the stripping of aircrafts and aircraft parts. It will be non-damaging to any surfaces (composite included), able to strip complex areas automatically (under the wings, the wing-fuselage-radome junction…) and to improve worker safety (no more exposure to chemicals, dust, or excessive sanding with the arms above the shoulders). Major cost savings will derive from the repeatable use of the process by MRO centres.
