Project: Novel Production Technology for Silicon Products

Solid silicon is a raw material for solar cells, future Li-ion batteries and several other technologies. We have identified new methods for silicon production through two new processes for gas purification and gas decomposition, which together represent a new manufacturing pathway for silicon products. In this project we will verify the commercial potential of the combination of these two methods and determine the material quality and potential yield and cost of the co-optimized process.
