| Project Topic | The aim of this project is to obtain UV stabilized polyester (PET) yarns with higher durability than yarns used in outdoor and automotive applications, which lose its mechanical properties upon 1500 hours of exposure to UV-light. In order to improve the UV-resistance of PET yarns, the polymeric matrix will be modified with Alkoxyamine Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (NOR HALS) by reactive extrusion, which will allow to extend the life time of the PET yarns up to more than 2500 hours. |
