Project Topic	Litus is developing uncooled engines for all applications and fuels. Uncooled engines will have many benefits, including about doubled efficiency (halved CO2 emissions), be many times smaller/lighter, etc. Key components will be of impact-resistant ceramic materials, withstanding much higher temperatures than today’s metals. This proposal is to research the use of gas bearings in a piston-cylinder configuration, without which uncooled engines cannot be developed.
