Based on breakthrough technologies, JANUS will provide: 1) social and context sensitive interaction, 2) autonomous ADL task support, and 3) remote monitoring, connectivity and control. Implemented on a new, cost-effective robotic platform, integration of these components leads to an affordable service robot, which can take away important barriers in market uptake of autonomous robots in healthcare, namely pricing, safety and user acceptance. |
