| Project Topic | VOLARISK is a project that aims to provide a global, high-resolution probabilistic view of the volcanic ash (VA) risk that may affect the aviation industry. Our product will be consistent with the catastrophe-modelling framework used in disaster-risk management. It will (1) assess the VA risk for assets, such as flight trajectories, aircraft engines, airports; and (2) offer index-based structuring products, that would transfer the VA risk from the aviation industry to the risk-takers. |
