| Project Topic | RELIEF results in a novel intravenous drug delivery system (DDS) validated for Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) treatment in animal models. This DDS-GBM can 1) selectively target GBM tumor cells including GBM stem cells; 2) cross the blood-brain tumor barrier (BBTB); and 3) decrease toxicity allowing long circulation times and accumulation of high API concentrations. The DDS consists of asymmetric liposomes encapsulating the API and is coated with functionality-enhancing peptides and ligands. |
