| Project Topic | Every year, 25,000 people in the EU and US suffer from Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), ending up wheelchair-dependent. Targeted Epidural Spinal Stimulation (TESS) is a rehabilitation therapy that uses a spinal cord implant to restore free-walking capacity for SCI patients (Fig. 4). In this project, we aim to develop a pre-operative planning system based on deep learning (DL) and electromagnetic (EM) simulation to support the complex spinal neurosurgery required for effective rehabilitation with TESS. |
