| Project Topic | Our goal is to develop a sustainable composite sandwich material and a corresponding waste-reduced manufacturing processes for marine components. The composite will consist of face sheets made of recycled carbon fibers with a bio-based epoxy powder (BEP) resin and a recycled PET-foam core. The face sheets will be made from novel “Solid Thermoset Prepregs” (STP). We will develop the BEP resin, the STP and the process to manufacture marine components out of the STP, the “STP Impregnation” (STPI). |
