| Project Topic | This project aims to verify suitability of Cascade Drives electro-mechanical linear actuator, EMA, in a Volvo CE battery-electric excavator. The patented EMA solution will be further developed and replace the boom arm hydraulic cylinders. Evaluation in actual operating conditions will confirm noise reduction and the foreseen energy saving of 35-55% when digging. Shifting towards electrified construction equipment, EMAs will boost the way to sustainable urban construction as a potential market. |
