| Project Topic | Efficient cell expansion still is a challenge in therapeutic cell manufacturing. We plan to deliver a novel microcarrier to expand the yields of functional mesenchymal stem cells (MSC). The starch microcarrier will be covered with an MSC-specific coating, combining peptides with glycosaminoglycans. To improve the MSC harvest, the microcarrier will be dissolvable by an external trigger. With this microcarrier, we will deliver an optimized MSC expansion bioreactor process in a serum-free medium. |
