Project: Nanostructured wear-proof insert for in-mold high contrast marking of plastics in injection molding
Acronym | HARD_CODE (Reference Number: 115754) |
Duration | 01/10/2021 - 01/10/2023 |
Project Topic | The project aims at a rugged insert tool for injection molding (IM) machines enabling for the first time a fast, cost-effective, in-mold marking of plastic goods with a unique device identification (UDI, 2D-code). The core of our product is a microfabricated chip with an array of individually controllable microheaters that, when switched on, leave a readable contrast pattern on the plastic surface. We need to render the insert resistant against pressure and abrasion, enhancing its durability. |
