| Project Topic | Light emitting diode (LED) lighting is delivering energy savings but often with poor light quality. This is due to the lack of an efficient red phosphor. The consortium will develop a new red phosphor based on a fundamentally new nanotechnology concept. Specifically, a new luminescent material will be developed and prototype LED demonstrated. The break-through efficiency together with the high color rendering allows maintaining the beautification of our world without suffering energy losses. |
