| Project Topic | Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is thought to be caused by aggregation and neurotoxicity of Abeta (Ab) proteins. We have discovered a pathway to prevent Ab aggregation via a natural human protein domain, called Bri2 BRICHOS (BD). Here we will deliver a) in vivo data to show that BD can prevent accumulation of toxic Ab intermediates and thereby prevent or slow AD and b) small molecules that bind BD and unleash its protective activity. |
