Project: Rapid tests for universal detection of tick-borne Lyme borreliosis (LB) and neuroborreliosis (LNB)
Acronym | REAG LFA (Reference Number: 12424) |
Duration | 01/10/2018 |
Project Topic | LB in human is caused by various strains of spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato which are transferred to humans via tick bites. At least 20 genospecies of Borrelia are known and presentation of those strains varies in different parts of the world. We want to develop new, universal state-of-the-art lateral flow rapid tests for detection of human LB and LNB caused by any of the known strains of Borrelia bacteria. Both human blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) can be used as samples. |
