Project: BrainCapsule - a stand-alone cognitive skills training application designed for health institutions.
The aim of the project is to deliver a fully-working prototype of a novel application for cognitive skills training, in order to complete the pre-production phases of product development._x000D__x000D_The BrainCapsule is a computer based unit designed especially for semi-medical health care institutions, wellness centres and SPAs, in order to fill a gap in brain health training facilities and also to offer additional innovative services to general purpose health care institutions._x000D__x000D_The BrainCapsule is a stand-alone installation with a built-in computer screen, controls and seat, that serves as a platform for running specialized computer software programmes designed for cognitive skills training (e.g. attention, visuo-spatial coordination, memory, language etc)._x000D__x000D_The prototype development process foresees the phases of requirements gathering and analysis, conceptual design, software and hardware engineering in conjunction with the development of the design concept (user interface design, usability analysis, selection of materials)._x000D__x000D_The project team combines the knowhow of prominent clinical neuro-psychologists and cognitive training practitioners with product designers and IT engineers to complete the concept of a novel product for brain health training. The BrainCapsule concept is based on extensive clinical experience with cognitive rehabilitation delivered by the leading Nordic rehabilitation sofware engineering company Multimedia J& J Intressi OY. The BrainCapsule integrates rehabilitation software with hardware, creating a customized installation and user interface in cooperation with an Estonian e-training sofware company Juku Lab and a product and industrial design company Taikonaut. The resulting cognitive skills training solution is a user-friendly multi-language platform that is easy to install at any health institution in Europe or elsewhere.
