Project: BioSec - Biometric and Security Video Technologies for Identity Authentication and Site-Security Everywhere

Biometric Technology:_x000D__x000D_Biometric technology identifies an individual based on physiological characteristics by matching patterns of live individuals in real time against enrolled records. Leading biometric technologies rely on fingerprint, face, iris and hand patterns. For higher accuracy, more than one form of biometric identification (Multimodal) is required. _x000D__x000D_Biometric devices are COly used by organizations for information/physical access, time and attendance and law enforcement. Such devices are generally integrated into networking infrastructure and installed on fixed locations. _x000D__x000D_Due to cost, complexity of use, space constraints and operating time sensitivity COly in crowded locations, such devices are based on a single biometric identifier. _x000D__x000D_Handheld biometric devices are COly used for law enforcement and mobile payment, carried and activated by an operator. The multimodal biometric approach is more usable COly in law enforcement where small amount of individuals are identified in less time constraints. Having also user interface means, necessarily, make such handheld devices relatively large and heavy._x000D__x000D_Video Verification Technology:_x000D__x000D_Digital video verification technology provides means for remote monitoring and visual check of an event using a video camera, as such it also resolves "false-alarm" problems. _x000D__x000D_A typical video verification alarm system is a micro-controller based device, equipped with a camera, connected to sensors, alerting means and remote communication. It identifies intrusion by sensors or by video-motion-detection techniques. Upon an event it activates local alerts, notifies remote monitor, provides visual information, COtains an event log and records visual information on local storage. One may also "remotely visit" the device for live video monitoring and recording at any time without any connection to an event._x000D__x000D_Video verification devices are integrated into home, business and enterprise security systems and are installed on fixed locations where an intruder may be identified. _x000D__x000D_The Goal:_x000D__x000D_The project's goal is providing on a single device a comprehensive, portable, standalone, compact, light, easy-to-use, easy-to-instal, low-power, low-cost multi-modal biometric and digital video solution for remote identity-authentication, attendance/access control and security video verification solution ("The Product")._x000D__x000D_The Product will provide means for remote identity authentication and site-protection everywhere either indoors or outdoors and at any environmental conditions.
