Project: THE FUTURE POULTRY FARMS

This project is aimed at the development of new farms and new elements that improve animal welfare and farm´s productivity, also studying the heating and ventilation system, and using hens and chicken´s excrements in order to reduce energy consumption, achieving this way the needed extra energy as completely clean energy._x000D__x000D_To develop this kind of farms it is necessary to attain the following goals:_x000D__x000D_1. No energy impact._x000D_To obtain an optimum use is necessary a reduction of the wasteful energy consumption in actual farms and replace it with renewable energy, which shows advantages like the fact of being inexhaustible, clean and environmentally respectful, as well as providing the capacity of being self-sufficient. _x000D_For this purpose it´s necessary to reduce the CO elements energy consumption in actual farms and to use only renewable energies, getting this way important savings and reducing CO2 emissions._x000D__x000D_So as to obtain this goal, the following points are required:_x000D__x000D_• Study the heating and ventilation system elements._x000D_The goal is to optimize the heat´s use and to reduce the external input. This will be accomplished by studying the latest heating and ventilation systems as well as their better locations inside the farms._x000D__x000D_•Use hen and chicken excrements and transform them into heat._x000D_At first, a study of the ideal parameters that the excrements should have to generate heat, will be carried out . The CO idea is to reintroduced the heat in the farms, so as to minimize the farms´s environmental impact._x000D_This heat could be also used in houses as heating system, and the excrements could also be used as fertilizer after processing them or even to obtain biogas._x000D_Consequently, the energy intake will be influenced by this, achieving a reduction of the farms´s environmental impact._x000D__x000D_•Study clean energy sources._x000D_This study will help to minimize the emission of greenhouse effect gasses, specially CO2, helping this way to protect the planet from climate change._x000D__x000D_2. Improve farms´s productivity and animal welfare._x000D__x000D_The role of these batteries shouldn't be forgotten, since the profitability, management and the poultry and poultry farmer´s health are important aspects in this project._x000D__x000D_So as to obtain this goal, the following points are required:_x000D__x000D_• Study and design new elements as:_x000D_-Trough and feeder to increase the conversion (ratio feed/meat) allowing animal´s natural growth. _x000D_-Drivers to make variables like temperature and humidity possible to control in ventilation and heating systems and the process of the hens and chickens excrements, allowing a natural animal growth as well here._x000D__x000D_• New batteries_x000D_A study and development of new batteries that meet the standard animal welfare and provide a normal and simple ventilation is necessary. Besides, having the animals' feeding controlled and avoiding diseases such as cofidiosis must be taken into account._x000D__x000D_The global poultry industry has changed more over the last 50 years than any other sector of animal husbandry. The total consumption of poultry meat and eggs has increased considerably over the past five decades and continues growing as the human population grows._x000D__x000D_Due to this increasing demand of chicken meat and eggs in today's society, it is necessary to develop ambitious projects like this one, which enables farmers to obtain meat and eggs with the highest return possible, reducing costs and CO2 emissions, and ensuring the health of animals, farmers and consumers._x000D__x000D_Zucami and Corti have a long experience in the poultry industry where are recognized for the quality and design of their products as well as the close personal relationship with their customers. This personal relationship with farmers enables the two companies to know the actual farmer´s problems around the world because most of its revenue comes from abroad._x000D__x000D_With this project development and the perfect complementation between the two companies is expected that, from this collaboration, will emerge new business ideas that will allow them to improve their competitiveness._x000D_
