Project: Knowledge-based optimisation by extensive control and data acqusition in milling
European companies in manufacturing industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy, medical and machine tool manufacturing are facing a steady loss of competitiveness, since existing manufacturing technologies cannot fulfil the increasing demands on process capability and part quality. For the manufacturing of complex and high-precise products pure process control is no longer sufficient. Particularly, individual requirements of the industrial applications call for a radically integrated approach in terms of prediction, control, guidance and synchronisation of advanced manufacturing processes like milling. The core innovation of Kobold includes a solution for a transferable knowledge-based methodology for the transparent acquisition, analysis and derivation of multi-dimensional parameter interdependencies and optimisation potentials of main process specific parameters in milling. To derive high-resolution knowledge about the example process milling, three external metrology systems will be implemented into a Hembrug milling machine.
