Project: Morphologically Engineered Scaffold for Soft Tissue Application and Regeneration

The MES-STAR project will develop advanced and innovative tissue engineered products for clinical applications, capable of increasing the rate of soft tissue regeneration and of reducing the patients’ discomforts. The developed products will consequently diminish the economical impact of hospital care to society and improve patients’ quality of life. The results of the R&D activities of the proposed project will therefore contribute to increase competitiveness and innovativeness of SMEs involved, that will access the market with products with increased added value and with the commercialization of the new services. It also expected that MES-STAR will find an innovation process by transitioning from old concept of prostheses to new morphologically engineered scaffold and will contribute importantly to the acceleration of the acceptance of tissue engineering approaches to the clinical practice.
