Project: Next - gen Shields for elettrosmog mitigation at Extremely Low Frequency
Worldwide interest in the biological effects of extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields has grown significantly. Health professionals and government administrators and regulators, scientists and engineers, and, importantly, an increasing number of individuals in the general public are concerned about this health issue. The SELF project deals with the optimization of electromagnetic shield applied to High-Voltage, medium voltage, low-voltage (with high current) insulated cables (installed underground or inside buildings) and power transformers. The optimization will be applied in terms of : geometry (to increase efficiency), material (to reduce cost), corrosion protection (to increase duration and reliability) and production processes re-engineering.
