Project: Fatigue Damage from Dynamic Ice Action
Acronym | FATICE (Reference Number: MarTERA-2017_04) |
Duration | 01/07/2018 - 30/06/2021 |
Project Topic | The aim is to assess fatigue damage on fixed offshore structures exposed to drifting sea ice, which is a challenge for marine industries in the oil and gas and offshore wind sector. Combining the two fields of ice-induced vibrations and fatigue assessment will result in combined load-cycle time series and structural responses and lead to a new method to assess fatigue life through variable amplitude loading. This approach will facilitate the design of reliable and thus cost-efficient fixed offshore structures exposed to drifting sea ice and will lead to recommendations for novel guidelines. |
