Facing sustainability: new relationships between rural areas and agriculture in Europe

Towards a common research agenda First, RURAGRI will map out existing national research programs covering three areas: “Rural context”, “agriculture” and “governance”. This mapping will identify duplications, complementarities and gaps between national researches. Then, the partners will set a common research agenda, and identify synergies. Two research programs will be selected. The Consortium will develop for these two programs a joint action plan dealing with the new opportunities and gaps, training activities and joint networks of excellence. Finally, appropriate governance and financial mechanisms will enable the joint funding of a transnational research program.
