Project: Transforming Cities through Positive Energy Districts
Acronym | TRANS-PED (Reference Number: 36776900) |
Duration | 01/02/2021 - 31/01/2023 |
Project Topic | Positive energy districts and neighbourhoods are an attractive approach to change the ways that energy is produced, distributed and consumed, and can help to achieve decarbonisation goals. Effective changes to energy systems require technical and economic knowledge as well as input from the energy system stakeholders who are part of these systems. The TRANS-PED project will develop a collaborative approach for public, private, and third sector organisations to engage with the general public in Sweden, Belgium, and Austria to identify challenges and develop solutions to realise significant changes in urban energy systems, and by extension, cities and regions. The project will provide a set of tools to connect positive energy districts and neighbourhoods to broader urban sustainability aims of economic prosperity, environmental protection, and social equity. |
