Project: Get together without barriers ?- conceptualizing a platform solution for fostering inclusion on urban labour markets
Acronym | G@together (Reference Number: 438-12-443) |
Duration | 01/07/2014 - 30/06/2015 |
Project Topic | G@together aims at supporting cities in becoming more competitive, innovative business locations by seizing existing potentials of highly qualified but disadvantaged groups with regards to labour market participation. By involving relevant stakeholders in Vienna and Istanbul, we will research, develop and display measures that foster equal opportunities and inclusion on urban labour markets. Potential exclusion criteria for job seekers, such as origin/origin of their degree, gender, age, or others will be analysed in an exemplary manner. Formal and informal thresholds for disadvantaged job seekers will be thoroughly taken into account and form the basis of the conceptualisation of an innovative online platform that will be marked by high usability and accuracy for its vulnerable target group. Research on the needs of employers who are searching for specialised knowledge will allow making the platform serve them alike. This way, G@together aims at developing suitable ways to reveal and use existing potential on urban labour markets and alleviate the phenomenon of “brain waste” and shortages in skilled labour by facilitating the match of our target groups. The close collaboration with the end-users and the interdisciplinary, innovative approach provide for an outcome that addresses precisely the needs of our stakeholders, notably of cities. |
