Project: Acoustics in wooden buildings overview
The project AcuWood was complementary to the national Swedish project AkuLite – Sound, vibrations and springiness in lightweight buildings that started late 2009. All national researchers at universities and institutes participate, together with several industries and consultants, totally about 35 participants. AkuLite had the same main objectives and a strong international aim. The aim with AcuWood was on one hand to consider a wider range of building technique and potential cultural differences between inhabitants in Europe, but also to further ensure and strengthen the European dimension and cooperation within this area as soon as possible. It comprised necessary additional research activities, in order to introduce the gained scientific results into international standardization and to provide the prerequisites for industrial application.
