Project: Innovation in timber construction for the modernisation of the building envelope overview
The main objective of smartTES is to advance the method of energy efficient building modernisation with large-scale prefabricated timber elements based on the results of TES EnergyFacade (ERA-Net WoodWisdom-Net 2004-2008). Based on the results of the TES EnergyFacade research project as well as the experience of the participating professional partners, following further development has been made focusing on fire safety strategies, integrated building services in façade elements, robustness towards building physics as well various application of TES EnergyFacade as envelope and building extension.
