Annual professional development course on the Evaluation of Science and Innovation Policies

Date: 14/06/2021 - 18/06/2021

The Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIOIR) is pleased to be holding its annual professional development course on the Evaluation of Science and Innovation Policies from 14-18 June 2021 (posponed from 8-12 June 2020).

As a leading European centre in the study of science, technology and innovation policy and evaluation methodologies, MIOIR has been offering a residential professional development course on evaluation of science and innovation policies since the 1980s. Based on over forty years of evaluation experience, MIOIR is able to call upon a wealth of expertise, both from staff with practical experience of the conduct of evaluations and from policy makers and practitioners. MIOIR has an international cohort each year, with people attending from research organisations, government ministries and agencies engaged in all aspects of evaluation.

Participants will learn about evaluation tools and approaches, ‘get to grips’ with indicators, bibliometrics and altmetrics, and consider how to evaluate the institutions involved in delivering STI policy, and the broad range of economic and societal impacts of policy decisions.
