“JPIs on the Global Stage: Opportunities for International Collaboration” Workshop aim to create awareness about the JPIs and their strategic agendas among the funding bodies from major partner countries and to facilitate exchange of knowledge and cooperation with leading funding agencies from USA, Brazil and China.
During the Joint Programming Annual Conference in 15-16 2016 FFG has organized a session titled "internationalization of Public –Public Partnerships beyond Europe”. As discussed in this session, the European Union is a world leader in research and innovation but more and more research and innovation is performed outside of Europe. The increasing number of internationally co-authored scientific publications show that research and innovation are strongly interlinked internationally.
Following this event and its conclusions, during May 2016 three Horizon 2020 BILAT initiatives targeting Brazil, China and the USA have jointly approached the existing European Joint Programming Initiatives (JPIs) and asked their interest and expectations towards these countries. The outcome of this survey showed that many of them are interested in outreach to and cooperation with Brazil, China and the USA at different levels.
The purpose of this activity is scaling up the joint funding activities to international level, increase the visibility of JPIs and other relevant initiatives beyond Europe, and facilitate collaborations between JPIs and their counterpart organizations in target countries.
The workshop is invitation based. Please contact organizers via e-mail if you wish to participate in the event.
