R&I Days: Session on European Partnerships

Bringing stakeholders together to shape future research and innovation policy. That was the motto of the Commission’s R&I Days that took place online on 22-24 September 2020. Several workshops were held that were connected to Partnership issues. Recordings of some of these sessions are available after the event.

Supporting documents on financial management and in-kind contribution

Member States are in the process of calculating their commitments for the future European Partnerships Initiatives. In Horizon Europe the commitment of in-kind contributions will be relevant for all partnership formats. ERA-LEARN therefore published a supporting document for the calculation of in-kind contributions in European Partnerships. Furthermore we are providing a draft fact sheet on the financial management of co-funded partnerships in Horizon EU.

Webinar on ERA-NET Cofund reporting

Many ERA-NET Cofunds are in the final phase of their project. Project partners often face challenges when doing the required final reporting. On 6 October 2020, ERA-LEARN will therefore organize a half day webinar on the monitoring and reporting of ERA-NET Cofunds with helpful information about the financial certificate (CFS).

Workshop: new EU collaborations through European Partnerships

The digital conference “Industrial Technologies 2020 – Transition to Sustainable Prosperity” will take place under the auspices of the German Presidency of the Council of the European Union from 27th - 28th October 2020. On the first day, ERA-LERAN member Effie Amanatidou will moderate the workshop Horizon Europe Partnerships – How They Create Opportunities for New EU Collaborations and How They Can Enable the Transition to Economic, Social and Environmental Sustainability.

Update of ERA-LEARN website

Research and innovation partnerships have been introduced into the European R&I landscape following the Lisbon strategy with the aim to develop the European Research Area (ERA). For the first time, Horizon Europe will develop an overall policy approach for all kinds of partnerships, from ERA-NETs to JTIs, FET Flagships and even the EIT/KICs and uniformly label them as ‘European Partnerships’. ERA-LEARN adapted its website to this new new concept of European Partnerships.

Horizon Europe orients research and innovation partnerships towards the achievement of policy impacts with the expectation that they take a systematic and transformational approach to the achievement of objectives. This means that partnerships need to exploit synergies with other relevant R&I initiatives, including between themselves, and reflect this in their governance models and joint actions.
