On 26.11.2021, the Council adopted conclusions on the governance of the European Research Area (ERA) and a Pact for research and innovation (R&I) in Europe, setting out priorities and a streamlined governance framework for the ERA, including an ERA policy agenda for 2022-2024.

Under the new Pact for R&I, member states commit for the coming years to a set of common EU principles and values for R&I; shared priority areas for action; investments and reforms and a simplified policy coordination and monitoring process.

The official launch of Biodiversa+, the first European Co-funded Partnership to kick-off under Horizon Europe, took place as a hybrid event in Brussels 17-18 November. The event attracted participation from different levels of the community and policy makers, and shed light to the opportunities to join the partnerships’ activities according to the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).
Biodiversa+, European Partnership Rescuing Biodiversity to Safeguard Life on Earth, is continuing from the achievements of its’ preceding initiative BiodivERsA. The activities stemming from Biodiversa+ and the Biodiversity destination in the Work Programmes of cluster 6 (Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment) are essential to achieve the targets of European Biodiversity Strategy for 2030. 

The ERA-LEARN Network Database provides country statistics for all Member States and third countries involved in any type of Partnership monitored by ERA-LEARN. The reports include data on the number of partnerships involved, joint calls, funded projects, involved organisations, cooperation with other countries and more. The project also included the new partnership initiatives implemented in Horizon Europe.
